Not sure exactly what Tully is attempting here – some kind of dance?
I am a photographer. I love to take pictures of life and the extraordinary world I live in. Early morning on Four Mile Beach, afternoon on Macrossan Street, sunset at Rex Smeal Park, a fallen mango leaf in my garden...
Everyone's eyes have a different view of the
world - that is the wonderful thing about photography. I offer my
alternate perspective. I love what I do, I enjoy watching and learning about people.
I am essentially drawn to social documentary photography and blessed to live in Port Douglas... this has
led me to specialise in Wedding Photojournalism.
Based in Port Douglas, Far North Queensland, I am available for commission throughout Australia and overseas [weddings, editorial, commercial, documentary].
a photograph. to take a picture is to isolate an instant of Life. a picture is a Portal for the memory. life support for a faded moment. an expression to define Life. a way to remember the good bad beautiful ugly wonderful awe-ful places faces events joy tragedy...
a memory map.
a time machine.
a gift.
we need pictures to feed our memory,
to remind each other of the innate beauty of life (amid the chaos), the
adversity, the infinite diversity. To celebrate, to educate and to show
us though we may live separately, we are all connected.
humanity. life, love and laughter. tears and heartache. I want to embrace it all. the world we live in,
this beautiful and dreadful and wonderful place, this is what inspires
me.

On the other side of the road opposite our house there is a mango tree. The children and friends have used scrap building material from darren to construct their own tree house. This image was taken early on in the building process, it is multifaceted now. The mango tree leans over and creates a hideaway...

War games with pipe, a plastic golf club and cricket bat. Behind is the hideout, camouflaged with mango leaves and stick trimmings the little soldiers become invisible to passer’s by – until the ambush. I have always considered it disturbing, how children play about killing. But they go ahead and do it. Maybe it’s more...

When I shoot a wedding I completely immerse myself in the occasion. Each
wedding is a unique event - an evolving fusion of emotion, moments, love and life to be documented with sensitivity. I will be there amidst it all, quietly seeing. As an observer, I allow each moment to unfold without interference as I follow the intimate lives of of two people for one very special day. I absorb myself in the atmosphere and I truly love what I do. The result is a collection of genuine moments that tell the story of not just one day, but the beginning of two lives together... a valuable intimate record reflecting the personality of the bride, the groom, their family and friends.
I have a passion for social documentary photography and I value the enjoyment I get from my job. To strike a delicate balance between family life and a rewarding career, I accept wedding commissions limited to 25 per year.
